About Us
The word Hodisa is a Sotho word that means to grow, and this is exactly what the Hodisa SA organisation aims to do, contribute towards the economic growth of communities through empowering entrepreneurs and the youth.
At Hodisa SA we understand that unemployment has both individual and social consequences, and our objective is to provide the necessary support through various employment and entrepreneurial initiatives. We have seen how the high rate of unemployment has impacted our communities, individuals are experiencing psychological distress, which can lead to a decline in life satisfaction. It goes as far as affecting one’s social ascription and can also lead to mood disorders and even substance abuse.
Growth is one of our core values and we encourage our youth and entrepreneurs to take responsibility for their own development. We are here to change lives. One individual or start-up at a time. No one is immune to being unemployed, it is experienced by our friends, families, and communities at large. Our purpose is to provide solutions and remove barriers that restrict the unemployed and our entrepreneurs from accessing opportunities.
The main problem Hodisa SA is trying to solve is unemployment and we are addressing this by supporting local entrepreneurs to build and grow their businesses so they can employ more people. We are also supporting the youth and helping them get work-ready so they can attain available job opportunities.
In essence, at Hodisa SA we are tackling both sides of the employment issue.

Our Focus Areas
Job Creation
Through a Hodisa SA initiative called Digitise SA.
Digitise SA is an initiative aimed at supporting entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses utilising technology, cutting edge digital strategies, and other related methodologies and to particularly help struggling businesses without sufficient funds by sharing and teaching proven strategies and techniques they can implement themselves to grow their bottom line.
Employment Solutions
Hodisa SA gives free job readiness training and helps with CV Writing as well as job search training to allow youth from previously disadvantaged communities to enter the job market on the same level of professionalism as youth from advantaged backgrounds.
Our Vision
It is the vision of Hodisa SA to see small businesses grow into bigger, profitable, sustainable businesses that provides employment to the unemployed and ultimately see a steady decline in our unemployment numbers.

Why HODISA SA?
Hodisa SA is founded by people who have had a front-row seat to the struggles of building and growing ideas into profitable, fully-fledged businesses with no financial support or guidance from experienced business owners.
As these founders grew their businesses and started employing people, they saw first-hand why people from previously disadvantaged communities are not afforded the same opportunities as the youth that come from homes where parents are formally employed.
As much as in their personal capacity they have trained and employed youth from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, they saw the need was too large and they were limited in their personal capacity and more needed to be done to reach a greater scale of young people in need of such assistance, hence the birth of Hodisa SA.
It was not enough to just try to help the youth find jobs given the ongoing job scarcity, they realised they really needed to support the job creation part as well.
